Tax
Every area of law will have tax implications that could negatively or positively affect a transaction, litigation outcome, or the success of your business. China is no longer simply a tax paradise for foreign investors. The PRC tax regime is becoming increasingly complex and fraught with very fine and sometimes gray lines which intricately intersect with other areas of PRC law. However, JT&N’s tax attorneys are here to carefully guide our clients through this complex area. We have participated in and accumulated deep first-hand experience in the evolution of PRC tax law. Our attorneys have participated in and commented on the drafting process of the new tax law. We have also been repeatedly involved in transactions and litigation involving both older and new tax issues. Our tax attorneys have had experience as tax administrators and/or advisers for both domestic and multinational corporations.
JT&N’s tax practice distinguishes itself from accounting firms in its ability to provide tax advice within a legal framework. This is particularly important in China, where foreign investment and foreign exchange regulatory considerations often significantly impact tax planning and structuring options.
JT&N offers the following tax services to our clients:
General corporate and individual tax planning
Tax planning during structuring of investments
Taxation issues arising in an M&A context
Supply chain-related tax matters
Employment-related tax matters
Taxation of real-estate transactions
Indirect taxation issues
Transfer pricing
