To maximize the protection of your legitimate rights and interests

JT&N has one of the most highly regarded insurance practices in China, led by Senior Partner Lan Lan, Esq.  Our clients include some of the largest multinational insurance institutions in the world, as well as leading PRC insurers.  Our insurance practice encompasses the full spectrum of matters, including: the establishment of green-field insurance operations in China; formation of insurance joint ventures; M&A on behalf of insurance or non-insurance companies; structuring distribution licenses with local business partners; structuring complex reinsurance arrangements, including financial reinsurance, reinsurance cooperation with local partners and reinsurance registration; third party outsourcing; wording review for insurance policies; compliance; business partner dispute resolution; internet insurance operations; data security and personal information compliance as well as advising insurance and reinsurance companies or branches in managing their on-shore insurance funds in compliance with PRC laws and rules.

We pride ourselves on our ability to successfully steer our clients through the legal and regulatory challenges that face the insurance industry in China today.  We routinely advise international clients on a broad range of matters pertaining to PRC regulatory processes, the regulatory environment and operational issues arising therefrom.

Since the establishment in 1998 of the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (“CIRC”), the China insurance regulator, we have maintained a sound and solid working relationship with CIRC which has allowed us to more deeply understand the concerns, issues and regulatory intent of the regulator, all of which has been in a constant state of evolution since CIRC’s establishment.  We have assisted CIRC with collecting “best practices” from other jurisdictions around the world and we are often consulted by CIRC in its rule-making processes.  We routinely consult with CIRC on a formal or informal basis on behalf of our clients and we monitor insurance regulatory developments on a daily basis which, we believe, has proved very valuable to our clients at various stages of their business development in China.
