On November 17, 2018, 2018 Annual Meeting of China Law Association on Science and Technology and the Summit Forum of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation for the 40th Anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening-up were grandly held in Beijing. At the meeting, the 9th China Science and Technology Law Awards were presented, and Linyan Ma, Senior Partner of JT&N was awarded the Outstanding Achievement Award.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China Law Association on Science and Technology. More than 200 well-known experts and scholars in the field of science and technology law as well as representatives from the business and legal circles were invited to attend this meeting themed New Times, New Opportunities, New Thoughts and New Development: Integration and Symbiosis of Science & Technology and Law. In addition, the 9th China Science and Technology Law Awards were presented at the meeting. These awards had been reviewed by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards and approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China.
Mrs. Xin Lin, Director of the National Office for Science and Technology Awards presented the award to lawyer Linyan Ma. Among the leaders that attended the award ceremony were: Ruichun Duan, Honorary Chairman of China Law Association on Science and Technology, former Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Jiancheng Fang, Chairman of China Law Association on Science and Technology, and Vice President of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Jiaofeng Pan, Vice Chairman of China Law Association on Science and Technology and Dean of the Scientific and Technological Strategic Consulting Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Lawyer Linyan Ma has rich experience and has handled a lot of cases in the field of science and technology laws. She has resolved a lot of legal issues related to scientific and technological innovation and technology transfer and in particular, has made in-depth research on such emerging areas as e-commerce, artificial intelligence, block chain, Internet finance, network security law and data and information protection. In 2017 and 2018, she, together with the delegations of the Ministry of Commerce and China Law Association on Science and Technology, paid visits to countries like Germany, Britain, Ireland, Switzerland and Austria and organizations like World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), for exchanges and cooperation with governments and enterprises in the fields of cross-border e-commerce, logistics, block chain and technology transfer.
